Psalm 20:6-7
6 Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed; he will answer him from his holy heaven with the saving might of his right hand. 7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.
What a profound statement of faith it is for David to proclaim beyond a shadow of a doubt, “I know that the Lord will save his anointed.” David makes this declaration as the Kingdom of Israel is still in its early years and other nations are far superior in military might. The advanced nations boast in their chariots and horses, but Israel has a far greater military resource, the power of God Almighty! But what good is it to have God’s power at your disposal if you are unable, or even worse, unwilling to recognize it?
David leads by example as he not only has access to God, he KNOWS it and trusts that God will bring victory!
There is an example in the New Testament of this same knowledge. When Jesus stood before the tomb of Lazarus he looked to the heavens and prayed, “Father, I thank you for hearing me, I KNOW that You always hear me.” Pay attention to these words and make it a point to pray in the same way...with certainty that God hears you.
It is a prayer of faith that uses the same language that David used in our Psalm today. It is wonderful to use the words of David as a reference in our prayers, but it is absolutely imperative to use the words of Jesus! We are called to follow after Jesus in all that we do so putting His words into our mouths when we pray, KNOWING, God hears us should fill our hearts and minds with assurance.
When you know with your whole heart that God has called you to a life that is meant to glorify Him, step forward in faith-filled prayer that is assured of God hearing and answering as He works on your behalf. Remember this, your prayers are answered for His glory. So lift your words of prayer up in faith, knowing that God’s promises will be fulfilled.
Lord Jesus, I know that you hear me. I know that you always hear me. I have the assurance of your strength, wisdom, and guidance in my life. I KNOW THIS! In Your Mighty Name, Amen

Thanks for this, Pastor Josh. I had to dig through the web to refresh me on the tern “anointed “ in the context of the scriptures. And to underscore my knowing and belief that God indeed hears my prayers. —-Paul Allen
